I am using 4 weight yarn (premier home cotton) doubled up to make this bag, and it is coming out really large…that’s no issue for me, bc I love big bags. If you don’t prefer a duffel-sized bag, though, you should go with DK weight. It is an easy pattern to use, even though am a new crocheter. I will definitely purchase another one.

Overall, if you understand crochet patterns you can make this bag. But it is not a beginner project - it definitely requires some prior knowledge. Like how to work in rows, back and forth. I followed the pattern exactly, with the exact yarn and the recommended hook size and came out with a bag more like a birkin 45. Still gorgeous, but not the same. Attaching the hardware is a pain🤣 the front pieces I did as suggested, but ended up moving once the bag was fully constructed to make the flap lay better, that was a nightmare. I ended up doing the key covering completely different because it didn’t look proportional to the bag.

Started with a chain 3- sc next row- inc next row- sc(4) - inc- sc 5- inc - sc 6- dc.

I lined my handles with 2 strands of macrame cord I had to keep them more sturdy.

The pattern is great
Explained absolutely everything
The only thing that I can suggest to add is how to attach the hardware
Guidance to it will actually help a lot
Overall I really liked the pattern

I chose to crochet my bag in pink just like the one shown. I found the pattern very easy to follow and I am very pleased with the finished item. I also bought a bag organiser from Amazon which kept the bag nice and rigid.
